Acoustic Wave Therapy

Provider performing acoustic wave therapy on a patient during a clinical treatment session.

Acoustic Wave Therapy uses pressure waves to stimulate muscles and other soft tissues. It’s often used for ongoing pain and tightness, particularly in areas that haven’t improved much with other treatments. The pressure waves can help increase circulation and encourage tissue repair.

At our Dallas clinic, we often use Acoustic Wave Therapy along with laser therapy or medical massage, depending on the type of pain or injury being treated.

A handheld device sends pressure waves into the area being treated. This creates a mechanical response in the tissue that can help improve blood flow and reduce discomfort.

Angelika, our licensed massage therapist, uses a combination of hands-on techniques and equipment-based treatments. Massage works directly on tight muscles, laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular activity, and Acoustic Wave Therapy uses mechanical pressure. Together, these methods give us different ways to work with patients experiencing chronic pain or recovering from injuries.
